Parliament will convene at 5 pm on Friday to elect the new President of the country. The most likely candidate for the post of the head of the state will be the current Assembly Speaker and leader of the Socialist Movement for Integration, Ilir Meta.
The plenary session for the voting of Ilir Meta as head of the state will be held at 5 PM as part of the fourth round of this process, following the failure of the first three rounds.
Meta’s nomination came after intensive meetings held yesterday between the Socialist Party and the Socialist Movement for Integration, where the latter proposed two names, that of Ilir Meta and the minister of Justice, Petrit Vasili.
Meta’s nomination was unanimously backed by the Socialist Party leadership. /e.i/
