Religious freedom in Albania has been praised in the annual report of the US State Department, but this report also stresses that there are still problems with the process of returning properties to religious institutions.
The US State Department published on Tuesday its annual report on the state of freedom of religion in the world. As far as Albania is concerned, the report states that the Constitution guarantees the freedom of religion. The report also praises religious harmony that exists in the country and the stance of the government toward different religions, but it points out that very little progress has been made in terms of the process of returning properties to religious institutions. /e.i/
