Unemployment in the country drops
The dynamic of the labor market has responded to the positive developments of the Albanian economy, economic growth, the improvement of the business environment and the battle against informality.

Unemployment in the third quarter of 2017 was 13.6% as opposed to 18.2% in the first quarter of 2014, Institute of Statistics reports.

Compared to the third quarter of 2016, the official unemployment rate fell by 1,1%.

Referring to the data generated by the quarterly survey of labor force, in annual terms, employment grew by 1.9%. The highest number of jobs was created by the service sector. According to INSTAT, in annual terms, employment in the service sector grew by 8%. In the industry sector, employment grew by 0.8%.

The Albanian government has a program which aims at supporting employment, while professional education has started to yield its first results. The promotion of new potential sectors with tax allowances, but also with dedicated packages which aim at having a direct impact on the growth of productivity and added value in the economic chain, the support given to companies with other policies, the national strategy for employment and training, all contribute for a growth of employment.
