Fear is feeding crime

Nobody knows what is happening. People in cafés are looking from the big windows to see handcuffed leaders being taken to the court. The same as in 1946, when the enemies of the people, who had been educated in the West, were being taken to the court.

But, this time, there’s a big difference: Those from the West have offered their assurances that they will arrest the “partisans” of the country. It’s been a while that a punishment pyramid has been built, of the kind that Albanians like: “As long as the neighbor is punished, I don’t want anything for myself!”.  Foreigners have adopted this “legend”and are promising arrests and imprisonments of Albanian officials and politicians.

The US ambassador declared that “big fishes will be arrested in January”. It doesn’t matter if this January never comes for as long as people continue to be happy that “they will be arrested”.

Everyone will be waiting; nobody knows what they are waiting for, they just wait. The handcuffs may also end in the hands of the “small fishes” who spend their days on the streets, looking to earn a few pennies to feed their children, because they are the first ones who are deemed to be corrupt. There’s not a person in this country who is not corrupted.

But they do not know what they should expect at the time when someone announces “arrests for the corrupt”, because this is only a revolutionary slogan and not a legal solution.

Meanwhile, the “big fishes”, who still don’t exist, know the danger. What we’re seeing now is the same thing that happens with patients suffering of heart problems. Doctors say that those who are cured of cardiac problems live longer than those who don’t know what is happening with them. So, the “big ones” know the risks of being punished and so, they have taken measures. They are the “patients” who never die.

The fear that the declarations of the international community has placed the “fishes” in a safer position.

What is this safer position?

The security coming from the warning.

Even the biggest stupid who has signed a state contract, does something when “America” warns him that it’s coming to arrest him. Since the moment this was declared, thousands and millions of proofs were destroyed. Since that day, millions of files have been withdrawn or corrected. Ministers have sent their mothers millions of euros or they’ve put them under the matrasses of poor people who live in the suburbs. Or they’re “burning” them in miserable bars which are bought for millions.

The fear behind militancy.

After the list of people who would be arrested was made public, they reacted. It’s the political leaders who are suspected. The reaction didn’t need to be personal. Militants of all sides have been alerted and they want to fight to defend their bosses. The boss is sometimes in power, sometimes in opposition; the same as the demonstrations in Iran, where people “infatuated” with the government took to the streets to protest against the opposition.

Everything has been mixed up. The fear of arrests by America has united them. There are no political ideas, no viewpoints and no programs. The only thing that they’re focusing on is to protect those who have been threatened. “Justice” may now target those who are unprotected, those who are small in order to fill the arrest list of the US and EU.

Now it’s no longer a matter of politics, but protection.

The fear that shrinks institutions:

Perhaps a thousand years are needed until the institutions of the judiciary reform are set up. Why? Because fear from warning messages has gathered MPs and their bosses inside a shell which cannot be penetrated. This also saves traffickers and crime bosses who are not politicians.

The same thing happened with our race in Kosovo. The most senior leaders of the youngest state gathered together to repeal the Special Tribunal. If they can’t repeal it, then they will have to face justice. United States and Europe have issued strong warnings against this repeal.

But now, neither the US, nor the EU can control anything, because their envoys have issued messages which showed the guilty leaders how they can protect themselves. I have the impression that they have intentionally made this noise: in order for these guilty people to take measure, protect themselves or hide.
