Heroes are being fabricated

Heroes are being fabricated

Crises are almost becoming like maternity hospitals. “Heroes” are coming out of them and in times of crises, it’s very easy for people to fabricate heroes. Heroes are “fabricated” the same as the weapons, spears, machetes, knives… Heroes–which at this day and age belong to weak and undeveloped societies–replace the weapon. The word “hero”, with its roots in the ancient Greek meaning “protector”, has taken second meanings in these modern centuries:

It’s either a “gun butt” used for self-defence in undeveloped societies, or a “romance hero”, “love hero”–and this happens in developed societies.

Among us, the Balkan people and in a few other countries too, we have come at the age of hero “manufacturing plants”. Society is enclosed within a circuit; the only way out is a tragic one: Fabricated heroes!...

I’m not only referring to Oliver Ivanovic, but also to this:

If there wasn’t an “Oliver Ivanovic”, we would create him; lucky for them, he was ready to enter the “manufacturing plant”. One side hates him, the other glorifies him; then they switch sides–the one glorifying him accuses as murderer and mobster and vice versa. He is no longer needed. If one side declares him “enemy”, the other is ready to call him a hero.

Oliver Ivanovic could help both sides. Serbs needed a “pause” in the talks for the recognition of Kosovo as an independent country–this would perhaps be considered as the most lifesaving pause in history. The killing of the “hero” enabled the sides to take a breath; talks will be suspended or they will have another profile.

As far as Albanians of Kosovo are concerned, Oliver Ivanovic was more useful. Had they not have him, they would create him: The previous heroes are no longer needed. The main leaders, starting with the President of Republic and Prime Minister, come from the heroism of the War of Kosovo in 1999. More attentive eyes have discovered that the old heroes had been involved in crimes against citizens of Kosovo, Albanians and Serbs alike. The Special Tribunal which was set up along with western allies, to offer justice to the victims, was going to indict the war heroes. They did everything they could to destroy the Special Tribunal and they were managing to do it. What if they didn’t? “Oliver” was “forged” at the right time: Now, the leaders of Kosovo, former heroes and accused of crimes, will be able to sleep comfortably for a few nights, without locking themselves in. Serbia’s row with Kosovo over the killing of Ivanovic will last a while and it will cover several crimes.

The hero is against justice

If the hero was “just”, educated and reasonable, who would become a hero?! The “hero” is against justice. This is the archetype of the hero that Albanians on both sides of the border need, that Serbs in Bosnia and Croatia need and the hero that Bosnians in Bosnia need. The age that we’re going through is the age of organized crime and mob. In Albania, it is closely related to the production of narcotics. Nobody is clean, but the opposition pretends it is clean. Western allies have initiated a reform in the justice system, pledging that “paradise of justice is descending upon us from heaven”.

In this case, all the sides need “a hero”. There’s no use for Oliver here. What we need here is a “heroine” and the justice system is being declared a heroine.

Justice–a heroine of the government:

The left wing government has all the features of the Communist Party in the way it treats heroes: it brings them in podiums and displays them for everyone to see. This is what it has done with lady Justice, which still doesn’t have a portrait, but the government has fabricated it. The government has sworn that it will use this “heroine” as a weapon to fight all the enemies, to imprison former government officials and people rejoice, although they have barely anything to eat. In fact, justice doesn’t exist, but its “heroine” figure is serving the government’s interests.

Justice–a heroine of the opposition:

The opposition has changed the portrait of its “heroine” several times. At the beginning it was called “Republic”, but it had no shape. Whoever wanted to mock the beautiful “heroine”, passed in front of her and swore allegiance. From a “Republic”, the heroine turned into an “Agreement”; but it was not beautiful like the Republic, it was just a prostitute. The secret agreement between the opposition and the government was hidden before the “naïve” police raided the hotels. Now, the opposition has once again taken the “heroine” in its hands, naming her “Prosecutor”. According to the opposition, the Prosecutor General has been elected by violating the Constitution of the Republic. So, the opposition is in difficult position and nobody has faith in its cause.

Justice–a heroine of the international community:

Even for them, justice fabricated as a heroine has not turned into a “bad godess”. The international community did what they did, but there’s no way that they did justice. Now, they want “to sell it” and save their skin.  They have received their titles and money for the Reform and now, they couldn’t care less about anything else. Now they just want to sell it. But, where? Only the people buy “heroes”; they even buy them at a high price… Let them go as soon as possible before their “heroine” is brought down from the pedestal.
