Salaries for public service employees will see an increase
The beginning of this month coincides with the start of the calculation of new salaries for public administration employees, thanks to the implementation of the government decision to increase these salaries for 110 thousand employees. This increase varies from 7% to 36%. What really catches the eye in the list of beneficiaries is the number of healthcare employees that benefit from this increase; 18.415 employees, from which 4.650 are doctors and 13.765 are nurses. Benefiting this increase are also 34.630 teachers, 10 thousand police officers, 6750 military officers, etc.

 Do you work for the public sector? Starting from today, 1 March 2017, your salary will be 37.500 ALL and this salary will be received as of 1 April and onward. This figure coincides with the gross minimum pay for all employees of the public administration, determined by the government with a special decision taken last year, the application of which will start at the beginning of this month. In total, there are around 6.900 employees, who will benefit a pay increase of 36%, costing 1 billion ALL to the state budget. Meanwhile, the 10 month financial effect of this pay increase until the end of the year is estimated to be 6 billion ALL. According to the decision of the ministry of Finance, the new increase in salaries varies from 7% to 36%.

Administration employees who receive a minimum salary include drivers, janitors, warehouse employees or cleaners. Meanwhile, institutions are calculating the new increase in salaries based on the government decision, which will have a retroactive effect. In other words, this increase in salaries will start to take effect starting from 1 March, but the current salary along with the increase will be received starting from 1 April. Also, an interesting detail which relates to the new increase in salaries is the one that has to do with specialists.

This increase will be based on the level of their education and the ones that will be favored the most will be those who have completed 5 years at university, while those who have only completed 4 years are considered to have obtained a master of sciences. Another interesting element from the decision in question is the high number of beneficiaries from this new increase, especially in the healthcare sector. The number of people who benefit from this increase in this sector is 18.415, of which 4.650 are doctors and 13.765 are nurses. But this increase will also be benefited by 34.630 teachers, the salary of which will increase by 10% and the financial effect for this increase will be 1.3 billion ALL.
