According to this decision, starting from this date, around 21 thousand public administration employees will seen a 10% increase in their salaries and the financial effect for the entire year as a result of this will be 1 billion ALL.
This category includes civil servants, deputy ministers, the President’s administration, Parliament’s administration, Central Election Commission’s administration, Supreme Court, Prosecution and also some independent institutions. The increase will also include those institutions that depend on the Prime Minister, ministries or prefects.
People working in the pre-university will also benefit from this increase. Namely: A high school teacher’s salary increases by 3850 ALL/month and his new gross monthly salary will be 68.150 ALL/month; a grammar school teacher’s salary increases by 3.550 ALL/month, while his new gross monthly salary will be 62.450 ALL/month. In total, this increase benefits 31.370 people working in the education system, with an annual financial effect of 1.3 billion ALL to the state budget. At the same time, salaries in the education system is accompanied by an increase from 10 to 12% for people working in the higher education system. This increase will apply to around 3500 professors and academic staff and the fund allocated for this increase is 45 million ALL a year.
Meanwhile, an increase of 10% will also benefit 18 thousand healthcare workers, with a state budget cost of 1.3 billion ALL for a period of 12 months. The government has also increased salaries by 10% for diplomats. In total, the number of beneficiaries from this increase is around 400 embassy workers and its annual financial effect is 70 million ALL. Meanwhile, local government employees’ salaries will see an increase of 7%. An increase will also be made to salaries for employees working for the military, the Republican Guard, etc.
