In its main story for today’s issue, Albanian Free Press offers an exclusive interview with the last former minister of Defence of the Labor Party of Albania, Kiço Mustaqi. During this interview, he says that this has been the most difficult time of his life and the cause for this relates to the cunning behavior of Ramiz Alia, who didn’t care about anyone.
In many occasions, Alia had been tough on him with criticism, but Mustaqi defended himself with the formula of the orders in writing and that the army’s duty was to defend the country from enemy attacks. “When I asked him to issue orders in writing for me, he pretended he didn’t listen”, he said.
The arguing continued until Mustaqi resigned. But he continues to be convinced that it was Ramiz Alia’s idea the one that gave the power to Sali Berisha and that at that period of time, there were forces that encouraged bloodshed.
