Business feels more secure than consumers
Business seems to reflect more security than consumers as far as the economy is concerned, but also in terms of expectations. Although it may face many difficulties, the business sector is more optimistic in terms of the turns that it may take. This is confirmed by the figures given by banking experts, according to which, several sectors have confidence on the economy.

These sectors include industry or construction, which for the second quarter of this year have shown an increase in the level of economic sensitivity. So, confidence of the industry sector in the economy continued to grow by 4.5% for the second quarter in a row and this reflects a positive dynamic in terms of contracts and manufacturing at the same time. On the other hand, as far as the construction sector is concerned, figures show that its confidence on the economy continued to grow by 1.7% thanks to the growth in the number of contracts and construction activity as such. It must also be said that there are business sectors which have seen a drop this year, such as the service sector by -18%.

EXPECTATIONS

Prices and unemployment seem to be two key points on which the fate of the small consumer economies in Albania “depends”. In fact, both of them show to be negative for the months to come, further strengthening their lack of confidence on the economy. If we refer to figures, consumers show that their expectations in relation to prices is very low in the future, namely, -25.7%. As far as unemployment is concerned, it also registered negative expectations of -8.5%. Thus, with higher prices and higher unemployment, Albanian consumers predict insecurity for the months to come in terms of their finances.
