OECD: Albanian products without certificates, difficulties in penetrating markets
Albanian businesses are still encountering difficulties in exporting their products abroad and the main reason for this relates to the fact that these businesses lack certificates that guarantee their standards. In fact, this was declared by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) on the World Day for Competition.

“The number of certificates registered at the International Standardization Organization is a scale which indicates the level of integration in the global chain of value and the elasticity of investments. In the region of Southeast Europe, the number of registered ISO 9001 certificates per million residents is lower than in the European Union. Serbia has the highest level, while Albania and Montenegro have the lowest level”, the report published by this organization points out.

Let us recall than the more certificates a business has, the easier it is for it to penetrate in foreign markets through its products. But, it seems that it’s still hard for Albanian businesses to achieve such thing.
