Hahn from Tirana: EU negotiations, Albania should deliver the 5 key priorities

“It is very important to deliver the 5 key priorities. In our opinion, Albania is in the right path and the European aspiration must be a national objective which must be supported by all forces, society, political parties and the media”.

Such declaration was made today from Tirana by the EU Enlargement Commissioner, Johannes Hahn.

“EU accession is a national objective and I think that all players must contribute to this. The entire country wants a European future and this is important for us. All political parties want European integration and this must be shown through a joint national action”, commissioner Hahn said.

On the other hand, referring to the fight against drug traffic and the reduction of the number of asylum seekers, he added that “there are several challenges that must be tackled and must be overcome”, Hahn said.

Meanwhile, on his part, the Albanian PM, Edi Rama said that “Albania deserves to launch the EU accession talks”.

“Today, we can say that Albania deserves to launch the negotiations and on the other hand, we will continue to consolidate our position in relation to this aspiration which concerns every Albanian”.
