Leader of DP dismisses any chance of cooperation with the majority
The leader of the Democratic Party in opposition, Lulzim Basha declared yesterday that his party will not collaborate with leader of the ruling party, Edi Rama on the election of the new interim general prosecutor, by accusing him of violating the Constitution.

“Rama wants to elect or appoint a prosecutor without conducting the screening of judges and prosecutors. The answer is clear for every Albanian. With the new law drafted by Rama, this prosecutor will suspend prosecutors, evaluate them or reevaluate them. The scheme is clear: Edi Rama has managed to ruin the process of the creation of the Border of Prosecutors and now, he’s inviting us to violate the Constitution in order to have a prosecutor who obeys his orders. This prosecutor will not fight crime, but he will offer protection to crime and criminals. The Democratic Party will not offer its collaboration for those who violate the Constitution”, Basha said.

Meanwhile, the issue of the election of the new prosecutor has been a topic of debate in the recent days among politicians in the country, as the mandate of general attorney, Adriatik Llalla has ended. It is not yet clear how the sides will act in relation to the election of the new general prosecutor.
