Tourism, foreigners only spend a few days in Albania
Visits last only a few days. This is what many foreigners have done for many years in Albania. Their long stays have been rare, confirming this way that Albania is a country which is still being discovered and not a proper destination, which is known by everyone for long and traditional holidays. This phenomenon is reflected on the recent data published by the Institute of Statistics, according to which, visits made by foreigners lasting only several days have increased from one year to another.

According to them, five years ago, in 2012, the number of foreigners who visited Albania for a few days was 71 thousand. Last year, they were 500 thousand or 7 times more. In the month of November this year, their number was 20 thousand. This is a growing trend which has nothing to do with travel motives for foreigners throughout the years, although they have registered increases in their total. So, in 2012, 1.4 million foreigners arrived in Albania for holidays. Last year, they were 1.9 million or 380 thousand only in the month of November this year. Meanwhile, the number of foreigners who visit the country for religious purposes has declined from one year to another. Five years ago, they were 1500, while this year they were 1 thousand. Even the number of transit visits has fallen from 287 thousand five years ago to 158 thousand last year. Meanwhile, in November this year, the number of foreigners who visited the country for business purposes was 6500, while five years ago they were five thousand.
