Governor Sejko stresses the role of economic research on BoA policies

The Bank of Albania has hosted today the 11th South-Eastern European Economic Research Workshop.

This seminar, which is organized by the Bank of Albania for the 11th year in a row, aims at promoting discussions and economic research, along with regional cooperation in Southeastern Europe.

Present in this activity are representatives from the central banks of the region, university academics, experts from international financial institutions and experts of the Bank of Albania.

The conference was addressed by the Governor of the Bank of Albania, Mr. Gent Sejko, who said that economic research in the Bank of Albania and other European central banks is a very important function, which has successfully supported the process of formulation and the implementation of monetary policy.

According to him, economic research has offered a very precious contribution through new methodologies, which have been appropriated as instruments of analysis and forecast by other departments, such as monetary policies, financial stability or banking supervision.
