EU commissioner Hahn hopeful about the opening of accession talks with Albania in October

“I support the recommendation made by the European Commission for the opening of accession negotiations with Albania and North Macedonia and I hope that the EU Council will approve our positive evaluation in October.” This was declared today by EU Enlargement Commissioner, Johannes Hahn in the Poznan summit.

“Both of these countries have implemented the reforms”, Hahn said, adding that Western Balkan leaders must work to improve relations between neighbouring countries, to improve regional collaboration and reconciliation, as these are the main conditions that these countries must deliver to join the EU.
