In spite of being a pagan feast from Elbasan, Summer Day has been celebrated all over Albania for years now.
Celebrations have taken place today in Tirana, where PM Edi Rama and mayor of the capital, Erion Veliaj, inaugurated the so called “Pazari i Ri” (New Market).
This market welcomes around 308 businesses, which will exert their activity there, but also thousands of people who want to spend the afternoon there tasting traditional food and traditional products.
The project for the reconstruction of the New Market had a cost of 544 million ALL and was funded by the Albanian-American Fund of Development, Municipality of Tirana and the government. /e.i/
