Interior minister pledges a tougher fight against crime

State police has the names of the heads of criminal rings that operate in Albania. This was declared today by the minister of Interior, Fatmir Xhafaj, who said that operation “Force of the Law” has now entered an action phase. “The preliminary phase has been completed. This phase consisted on identifying criminal groups, their criminal ties, their suspected criminal activities, the criminal assets that they possess, their areas of influence, ties with criminal groups abroad or the support that they have received throughout the years in their activity”, Interior minister Xhafaj said.

Participating in the regional conference dubbed “Fight against organized crime”, Xhafaj said that operations against crime are in line with the judicial reform. During this conference, minister Xhafaj also spoke of a new relationship that state police needs to have with prosecution and according to him, this will be achieved through the results expected to be generated by the reform in justice.
